WHAT TO EXPECT ON MOVING DAY

Whether you're a student, a first-time buyer or you simply haven't moved home before, if you are wondering what to expect on your upcoming moving day, here at Gentlevan Removals we've put together an explanation about what's involved to help you plan and prepare - we hope that this will make the experience as hassle-free for you as possible!

1. Arrival time
   
   At Gentlevan Removals, we like to start all of our moving day jobs nice and early, to make sure we have as much time as possible to complete the work for you. We'll start around 8:30am, depending on how big the move is, so make sure you have the kettle on for us for when we arrive!
   


2. Home walk through
   
   After our team has arrived at your house, we will introduce ourselves and then complete a walk through of your home. This is to check if there are any items that need to be left behind (curtains and curtain poles for example), and to make sure all items to be moved have been packed.
   


3. Covering and protecting your belongings
   
   After we have completed our walk through, our team will move on to protecting and covering your items ready for transit. For example, your clothes will be hung in wardrobe boxes, and we will use covers for your sofas and mattresses. All of your furniture items will be covered with blankets in our removals van, and we estimate that your house will be cleared and the van packed by 12:30pm - 1pm at the latest.
   


4. Going to your new house
   
   After everything has been packed into the van and we're ready to go, we will then begin our journey to your new house. Once we have arrived, our team will start unloading your belongings from the van, and we will start the job of placing them into the correct rooms and places inside your new home, as specified by you.
   


5. Finishing time and final checks
   
   The team's estimated finishing time on moving day is dependent upon the completion of the chain and the release of the keys, but we do aim to have everything completed for you by 5pm at the latest. Before we leave you at the end of the day, we will ask you to walk through your new home to ensure that all of your items are in their correct place and that you are happy that the job has been completed based on your requirements. Once that has been done, you are free to get on and start enjoying your new home, happy in the knowledge that all of your belongings are safe and located where they are meant to be!
